I like to use Fresh body lotions because they have deliciously yummy scents. Unfortunately, some Fresh Skincare Products have parabens, which are chemicals I try to avoid when I can. Parabens are relatively inexpensive preservatives that are often used in shampoos, conditioners, lotions, makeup and moisturizers. Parabens can be absorbed through the skin, blood and digestive system. They prevent bacteria and fungi from growing on many cosmetics and skincare products. Sadly, parabens have also been found in breast cancer tumors, and these chemicals also mimic estrogen. (Estrogen is a hormone that is present in the development of breast cancer.)
There are those who believe that parabens from deodorants travel to breast tissues and contribute to the development of breast tissues. There are no direct links, but molecular biologist Philippa Darbr believes that a form of paraben found in the tumors came from something applied in the arm/underam area, (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paraben). As a hypochondriac, I am tempted to trash everything with parabens. But my more logical side understands that I also can't just go to the extreme. Slowly but surely, I am buying more items without parabens. I even found an even better replacement for my adored Fresh Skincare Products. Farm House Fresh is similar to Fresh in that they smell utterly delicious.
